​Tomotaka Kato
  A Japanese gastrointestinal surgeon with specialization in hepato-biliary and pancreatic surgery, and medical illustrator.
​
  He has been carefully and meticulously drawing daily operative records for HBP surgery, which require an understanding of complicated anatomy and delicate surgical technique.
​
  While drawing the operation scene repeatedly, he came to place importance on expressing complex surgical concepts in a simple and prominent illustration, resulting in many contributions and impacts on presentations and publishing by himself and other surgeons.
